let me just share this wonderful experience I had today! :)
so we attended the launching of the book entitled "IT'S NOT THAT COMPLICATED: Bakit Hindi Pa Sasakupin Ng Mga Alien Ang Daigdig Sa 2012" written by Mr. Eros Atalia and pulished by VISPRINT. It was held at BEST SELLERS, Robinson's Galleria. We arrived at the mall at around 2:30pm and the program hasn't started yet but Mr. Atalia was there already with the staff of Visprint. Imagine how my eyes sparkled seeing that he's just there and that all I need is courage to ask questions given that I also wanted to be a writer someday, but then I was chickened by the thought that he might ignore me and I also couldn't think of anything at the moment but to have my books signed. When I saw him, I maintained my composure and went straight into his pile of books and grabbed a copy of his latest novel. After we payed for the book we went back into the launching area and still the program isn't starting but I can see his supporters coming gradually.
I let him sign my books before the program starts because after the talks I know the line for the book signing would be very long.

and so the program started at around 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon. The young director, Mr. Erick Salud and the actors of "Ligo na U, Lapit na Me" and "Intoy Syokoy" were there for the reading of the excerpts and of course to support Mr. Atalia. The brilliant editor, Mr. Jerry Gracio was also there to introduce the author, Mr. Eros Atalia.
In the middle of the program the honorable writer, Mr. Ricky Lee came in!!! My Gosh! If only I knew he'd be there I would have brought my book "Para kay B" and have him signed it too! oh well, just my luck!
and speaking of luck -- I'm still fortunate to have my newly purchased book signed by the Actor who played the role of "Intoy", the main character of "Ligo na U, Lapit na Me" when it was chosen to be a part of Cinemalaya 2011.
Edgar Allan Guzman - still so humble and kind |
Other important people were also there to share some stories, I just can't remember all their names. haha! Before the program ends, Edgar Allan surprised us with a song number. I never knew he could sing like that. His voice is just so simple and refreshing! :)
I just feel sad that Mercedes Cabral or the actor who played the role of "Jenny" still for "Ligo na U, Lapit na Me" wasn't able to attend the launch. :( but anyway, the entire program was fun and informative! all the cast and staff who shared their stories are all amazingly witty! NOW I'LL START READING AND PATIENTLY WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL OF "Ligo na U, Lapit na Me".
P.S:
Guys, Let us support Filipino writers as well.
